My Why

Childhood is filled with so many milestones- learning to tie shoelaces, making new friends, learning to swim or play a new sport. It is a constant journey of growth. But let’s be honest: one of the hardest things to learn is how to communicate our feelings. I began writing during the pandemic as a way to process my own emotions. At the same time, children were also experiencing really intense emotions. Many had anxiety, obsessive compulsive behaviors, or depression due to being isolated. It struck me that these little people are more aware of the world around them than I realized! In my books, I try to focus on children’s emotions in an authentic, yet subtle way. I incorporate children of different cultural backgrounds to highlight the fact that despite our differences on the outside, we all share the same feelings and challenges as we grow up. My hope is that my books help spark conversations between parents and their children. I would love to hear from you, please contact me with your thoughts!
